New Inmyths Song - This Song I Wrote 10/20/2009
1 Comment

'This Song I Wrote' is the new Inmyths' song.

It's an acoustic song, just voice and guitar, and it's the first  of a new series of  songs that I'm preparing that are a little more quiet.

Please tell me what you think!

This Song I Wrote

This song I wrote is not for you
Made it a long ago, before I met you

It was an error
to think that I could choose
The perfect words
To rhyme with you

This song you hear
Is not meant for you
You shouldn't listen
It just might hurt you

It was a mistake
To think that I could use
The perfect mirror
To reflect me in you

The stories behind the songs - The Stoned Message 09/28/2009

The Stoned Message

As you know, the Sukuru Sessions began around June 2005 in Coimbra, Portugal.
Mytho and I wanted to make music, no matter the genre or style. We both have our differences regarding music but we also have some similar tastes.

I am a Tool fan, and in those days I was listening to their last album "10,000 days" all the time. Mytho didn't know Tool that much, so he wasn't a fan, at least that's what he thought...

One day he came to me all weird and said: "I've just heard the most amazing song of all times!..." (well, something like that...). The song? "Rosetta Stoned". He was now an official fan!

So we (mostly Mytho) thought: Why not make the Rosetta Stoned's alien version song?

As you must know (if you don't you should!), Rosetta Stoned is about a man in the Hospital, explaining that he had been abducted by aliens and stuff, and he was all high.
The aliens told him a message, probably a very important message, but he was all high and he didn't had a pen to write down the message and...he shit the bed!! A very imaginative lyrics, you should read it.

We started to imagine what did really happened, did the man see those aliens or was he just high?

Our story tells that the man was really high that night but he had in fact an encounter with the aliens. The aliens weren't that friendly, and all they wanted was someone's body to continue their eternal life...

Well...see the result : The Stoned Message

The music itself was also inspired in Tool's stuff, we really like the final result and it was a very cool Sukuru experience. I hope you enjoy it, you may listen here

Jagermeister

I'm fine tonight
I'm waiting to get inspired

And while I'm killing time
I'll take the bottle down

Drink Up,Drink Up,Drink Up
Jagermeister

Get ready to hunt
Go for flavor
Seek the pleasure
Dig the treasure

I got news for you
Get cool get dizzy
Fuck it
Trust me

I know, you know
Be ready to roll
Take the trip
Why not a little sip
Take that fuckin´shot
Jagemeister wants me, I'm there
What about you?

Take the shot,Take the shot,Take the shot
Jagermeister

The stories behind the songs - Jagermeister 09/24/2009

This is the first post of a series of posts regarding the stories behind the songs within the Inmyths sessions.

Jagermeister

This song was made to participate in the UK's Jagermeister music contest. Back in 2006 the well known drink brand was looking for a new hymn, something fresh and attractive that revealed the drink spirit, blablabla...

I was living in Southampton in those days, (that's how i knew about the contest) and I gathered a couple of friends in order to make the so called hymn.

Mytho and I got together to discuss some ideas (he actually went all the way from Portugal to visit me for xtmas), I already had a guitar riff, and we worked on the lyrics and vocals.

We wanted something with groove and energy, so we thought to put more than one voice and give it a kind of hip-hop style.

But still something was missing...

I soon invited Geoff, that had been in a covers band (Van Allen, AC/DC...), to bring his talent to the piece. It was great, he liked the idea and we recorded some vocal takes at his place.

You may listen to the song here  or visit the music page .

Notice the first vocals are Geoff's and on the second part of the song it's me and Mytho.

The contest

Well...we didn't win, that wasn't the intention, although it would be nice to win the prize (about £5000 i think!... in music instruments and to be able to record the song in a professional studio), but the point is that it was fun to work with my friends and make some music.

We had the best song for sure but the winners were these guys: pickleddick

Picture
I was challanged to participate in the World Of Fox competition

I had to come up with a clever, quirky and innovative way of giving away this album to my own audience.

So I've created my own competition:

In order for you to win a free album by World of Fox - " Everything is for the Best"
, all you have to do is to pick up one or more Inmyths songs, available here and send me a song review.

The winner will be the best written review, tell me what did you like and what you didn't like in that particular song. I'm looking for a genuine review, with something that I can use and pay attention to in my future work.

You can send the reviews to inmyths@gmail.com

The jury? That will be me, so tell me what you think about the Inmyths songs.

The competition will be up until the 1st August 2009.

TNX lyrics 05/28/2009

TNX

While you get away, my enslaving life
I start to recover, begins another crossing

I commence gaining power.

Live again,
I dont't think I can,
While dying...
Who is this beautiful light?

Sweep frame by frame until my rebirth,
Recall all this wonderful

Until my return,
Recall all this wonderful
Yes I died once and I lived in several times,
Had many faces.

The music was composed by João Castelo and Hugo.

TNX, The Next X, is about past/future lives.Where are we heading to, where's the next place?

The X marks the spot.

I'll be posting the lyrics soon.

Hope you like it.
